What Sets Shopify Apart From Magento?

Although Shopify and Magento have given online businesses the chance to operate flawlessly, you should know that they are not the same. When setting up shop online for the first time, you will probably want software that you will work with all the way even after your online shop grows to become a large enterprise. As much as you can use either Magento or Shopify, here are some of the things that set them apart;

  • Customer care and support services

While Shopify provides a 24/7 customer care service, Magento has community-based support. The difference is that with Shopify, there is always someone on the other side ready to help you solve your problems. You could ask questions and get the answers you seek. As for Magento, you will have to look for support forums if someone already posted a problem similar to yours. If there is none, then it is up to you to post it up and wait for the experts to give you feedback.

  • Software user interface

The user interface can easily be described as the user dashboard. Shopify is praised for having the most straightforward user interface. In short, you can set up shop faster with Shopify compared to Magento thanks to its user-friendly interface. Magento, on the other hand, is a type of e-commerce software designed to handle more substantial investments. Therefore, its user interface requires prior knowledge of e-commerce since finding what you are looking for might not be easy.

  • Site hosting services

While Shopify provides free hosting for your online shop, Magento does not. Shopify tends to put everything in one place where you only need your Shopify back-end to access everything going on in your business. By hosting your shop, Shopify ensures that you and your customers are safe, and your shop will hardly buffer when there is too much traffic. As for Magento, you will have to find a separate host. The problem with this is your site security is up to you. It is also your responsibility to make sure that you get a host with the right servers for commerce. If you chose a lousy host, then your site will be taking too long to load especially when there is much traffic.

It is important to note that as much as Shopify and Magento have specific differences, these are the worlds most recognized e-commerce platforms. Before choosing which one suits your business, you might have to make a list of what you need to get from your software to enable you to make a quick choice.
